{ clean & simple and a question }

Super fun sketch going on this week over at CAS!
I played with a soothing color combo- grey, aqua, yellow and cream.

My question to you is that I am considering either a scor-pal or martha stewarts version, the score board. I'm really tired of the messy fold, especially when I do a top fold (you can maybe see what I mean at the top of my card). Have you used either of these? I'd love to hear your thoughts on if you think it's a good investment.

Card Recipe:
stamps- Poppy Backround- Hero Arts, Happy Birthday- CTMH
ink- breeze- CTMH
paper- grey wool and cream- CTMH,
other- CTMH button, glue dot, Waxy Flax- CTMH

  1. Very Pretty card!!!
I've Martha Stewart one..love it!.I think that is a better investment...you get the 1/4" marks on it and its cheaper also.I got mine from ACMoore with 50% off coupon.. what a deal!

  2. Love the card!

I have both the Scor-Pal and the MS Score board. I prefer the MS one because of the extra lines(less moving around of your project) BUT I don't like the tool storage as much and I don't like the scoring tool as much. There is an edge on it that runs around the tool that is quite 'sharp' if you are doing a lot of scoring at one time. (Found this out the hard way, doing boxes for my son's wedding next month) An added bonus of the MS one is the envelope maker tool they include with it and it was actually priced LESS than the Scor-Pal one.

  3. I have the MS one and I got that one over Scor-Pal for a couple reasons: price, more lines to score, and the envelope maker part. I've never used the anything but the MS one but I like it for what I need it to do.

  4. Kelly Jo, Your card is beautiful, I am so tempted to find that flower.
I have both the Scor-pal and the MS score board. I would take the MS over Scor-Pal hands down. The 1/8 inch marks make it a much better tool, I think. It cost $20 at Michael's and if you use a coupon it can be a lot less. I love the added envelope maker attachment. You really can't go wrong. Before that I used the track on my cutter from CTMH with a dry embossing stylus.

  5. I always wanted a Scor-Pal but just couldn't make myself spend the $40 or so on it and am I glad I waited. I got the Martha Stewart one (at Michael's with a 50% off coupon). I love how easy it is to use and the fact that it has the 1/4" marks ~ you don't need to move your project around as I have heard you have to on the Scor-Pal. The tool is a bit flimsy, but it works just fine (and you can always use a bone folder in place of it ~ I tried it and had no problems).

  6. I have a Scor Pal, but for scoring card folds, I primarily use a spare Fiskars cutter that I keep at hand with a scoring blade instead of a cutting blade. Having read all the other comments, however, I may have to go get a Martha one from Michael's! lol! AND we got 50% off q's in the paper today for JoAnn which Michael's will accept!

  8. What they said... The MS scoring board cost a grand total of $12. It has more scoring lines and the pieces store easily. It's a really good value.
Beautiful card! Love that color scheme!

  9. I don't have either one, but was contemplating getting the MS one over the Scor-Pal because of the cost right now. I would have to travel an hour to 2 hours to get to a place (Michael's/JoAnn's) that would carry it, so unless I am going that direction anyway...neither is worth it to me right now.

I know it doesn't help but I love your card and was hoping to make one also, but have been working more lately. We will see after I get home :D

    THANKS!!

  11. Great card as always.
I do have the MS score board and love it, I too hated the top of my cards and even the other folds, I use it ALWAYS. It also has more lines than the other one from what I can see and you can make score deco lines on your card. I especially like the idea that I used my 50% michaels coupon to purchase it. Hope this helps your decission.
