new stamps

I made a little trip to Michael's the other day armed with my 40% off coupon. Couldn't find anything to spend it on because everything I wanted was on sale! Love when that happens. Imagine my surprise when I happened upon a set of clear stamps that I've had my eyes on by Anna Griffin (Darcey Collection) in the clearance section! $2.47 people!!!

And, another weird thing happened to me that night but I came home and whipped up 4 cards with this set of stamps. So awesome to hit a creative surge like that! I stuck with the same paper and ink pads. Made it easy!

here is one of the cards I made.


First, I stamped the backround image by randomly stamping the image in different colors all over the paper. then I distressed the edges and adhered it to the cocoa stock and then to the card front.

Then, I stamped the thank you sentiment on a scrap piece of stock (same as the card base), cut it out and mounted it onto the card and finished her off with a couple of embellishments.

Have you noticed the Recollections Collection at Michaels? Love it- awesome quality and cheap! I'm trying to figure out the brand. It appears to be Michaels newest private label of products. I'm totally impressed!
