Anniversary card

I made this anniversary card for my parents, who celebrated their 36Th wedding anniversary on Tuesday.
card size is 5x7
White card stock for base. Patterned paper is from More To Adore- Close To My Heart. Then a layer of cocoa card stock and layered with randomly stamped flower images from Rustic Flowers in cocoa, hollyhock and baby pink.

And The Winner Is...

I hope you weren't all holding your breath for the winner of the ribbon. The days got away from me this week.

Drum roll please.... Shannon K- and the bonus for me is she recommended a site that i was not familiar with!

A new site I have just found is this onehttp://globalgourmet.com/They had the best recipe for chocolate cupcakes.I also use All Recipes too. I like them because they have all of the reviews from people that have actually made the recipe. I use that one the most.Love the ribbon and thanks for the chance to win it.

Shannon- please email me with your mailing address and I'll get these sent off to you!

Thanks to everybody who gave me some new websites- I can't wait to browse them!

A card for Fathers Day & Blog Candy!

I made this card for my dad. The base of the card is made out of clear acetate, or transparency. The image is stamped in twilight and the stamp is from Alfresco- Close To My Heart. I also used turquoise Stickles and Adhesive Gems by Mrs. Grossman. These are cool. I replicated the same image on the inside but just colored in the outside of the stamp, leaving space for my to stamp the word "dad" on the inside of the shape. The stamps are from Whimsy Caps- Close To My Heart and were stamped in cocoa.

We had a great lunch today to celebrate Father's Day. We started with blueberry & blue cheese spinach salad, honey mustard grilled chicken served with risotto rice, brussel sprouts and for dessert, an orange cream sherbet dessert. Yum-O!

Hope you enjoyed it and had a great Father's Day dad!

I'm offering up some blog candy because this post marks my 50th post since the inception of this blog. Because I'm always looking for great new recipes, its always nice to have new sites to reference. Some of my favorites include: elsie, allrecipes and recipezaar.

Leave me a comment including your favorite recipe website, and your name will be drawn to win my favorite new ribbon rounds by Paper Salon. I love these colors right now and thought I'd share them with you. If you don't have a favorite recipe site, drop me a note anyway- you're name will still be put in the drawing! I'll draw & post Friday night.

anniversary card

I made this anniversary card for some friends- their 7th wedding anniversary is today and I just realized it last night, so this card will arrive late. I can't seem to break from my bad habit of being late on cards- so I've adopted the motto "better late than never".

Card Recipe:
  • More To Adore patterned paper by Close TO My Heart
  • letters are from Autumn Leaves & are embossed in copper
  • Flower stamp is from Friendship Blessings
  • Close To My Heart chocolate eyelets
  • Inside sentiment is Always & Forever from Adorable (close to my heart)

masculine card

I made this card and was going for a masculine look, but I'm not sure I pulled it off. I used the Adorable set from Close To My Heart as well as rustic flowers for the background. I used a circle punch and coluzzle for the layered circles. Colors are bamboo and twilight.

Graduation Cards

I made these two cards for my two cousins, Mike & Lindsay, who graduated from High School yesterday. Mikes card is above. I used the alfresco stamp set and small pleasures paper from Close to My heart For Lindsay's card below, I used rustic flowers and spunky greetings for the congrats. colors are kiwi and ocean. Seemed like a weird combo until I tried it- I was really happy with the results.
