Welcome Spring!

This weekend, despite the rainy Saturday, really feels like spring! The grass is starting to turn green and my chives and day lilies have made their first appearance this year! In celebration of the springy weather, I made a card that was inspired by Taylor but I used Close To My Heart Stamps.

Stamps used: It's A Party ("flowers"), Cheerful Thoughts (sentiment), A Giving Hand (flower stem).
Colors used are: pink carnation, sweet leaf and honey
Embellishments: Mrs. Grossman's Accents Too!
I also used a stampin up scissors to get the distressed edge on the layered pink carnation card stock

Happy Day

I made this card tonight out of the Simple Blossoms set and used black and cranberry ink. Then I embossed the same image in cranberry and mounted it on black cardstock- not sure where I picked up the ribbons but I love them! It's hard to see from the picture, but the black is actually mounted onto a white folded card. The happy day sentiment is from So Sweet Seasons

Happy Birthday Card

It seems I'm always in need of a birthday card. I was trying to go for something masculine with this one and I'm not sure I pulled it off. I randomly stamped a variety of Happy Birthday sentiments from the new Happy Birthday set from CTMH. Ink pads: black and ocean. I also used bigger brads- pewter. I rounded two of the white corners for some interest.

I love all the cool fonts in this stamp set!

Stay tuned....I'll be adding some blog candy to celebrate 1,000 hits to my blog! I got into the blog candy I planned to give away so I have to go buy some new stuff.

Our New Table & Some Upcoming Blog Candy

We just had our new kitchen table delivered! Its a gathering table so you sit up a little higher. Its in between a bar table top and a regular kitchen table. It has a butterfly leaf, storage under the pedestal, suede chairs, a shelf for storage under the table top, and the best part is that we have 8 chairs! This means we actually have enough seating for family & friends that come to visit!

On a side note, I've nearly reached 1,000 visitors. Once I hit the big 1,000 I'll throw up some blog candy!

Happy Birthday

Here is a birthday card I made for our friend Rick. The paper is by My Mind's Eye (love their style). The blue paper is from Bazzil. The Happy words are from Autumn Leaves (clear stamps- the ONLY way to go!!) and its stamped in clear embossing powder. It doesn't' show in the picture very well, but underneath the clear embossing is the phrase Happy Birthday stamped in CTMH Heavenly Blue ink. I distressed the edges of the blue paper with Heidi Swapp's paper distresser.
